The Society
The Medico-Legal Society of Queensland’s charter is to further medico legal knowledge and to promote understanding and rapport between the medical and legal professions in Queensland. The Society is managed by a committee which includes representatives the two professions and our membership is made up of doctors, barristers and solicitors.
MLSQ is an active organisation regularly hosting dinner meetings with special guests from a variety of professions. Topics covered at dinners address issues and events of current interest and benefit to both professions. MLSQ also hosts an annual conference and frequent educational seminars.
2012 is an exciting year for the Society, celebrating 60 years with a cocktail party hosted by the Queensland Chief Justice at the new Supreme Court Building on Thursday 22 November 2012. The Society is also hosting the inaugral East Coast Medico-Legal Conference in association with the Medico-Legal Societies of New South Wales and Victoria. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove from 31 August to 1 September 2012. The conference theme is "Before and AHPRA - a retrospective review".
